Formed in December 2, 2013 by co-creators Zellar (owner of Steam group) and Ross (Team manager at the time), it acted as a way to officially stand out as a competative Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team and have a sense of community in their actions. Today Mob Lag consists of two predesesors, two members joined in the midst of the historical reign and a newcomer from Sweden.

History

Pre-Mob activity

The pre-Mob activity period is the origin of the group, where it came from and what the foundations of the group are. The acient history of Mob Lag can be split into 2 periods: actions between vsf and Jurrasik# ~2006-2011, the meeting of Zellar and the first Skype group early 2011-~2013

Actions between vsf and Jurasik# ~2006-2011

From the beggining of the friendship between vsf and Jurrasik# at speculatively 2006 at latest, the two grew up to be best friends. They would mostly see each other biannually, in some cases annually with the help of visiting. And with the advent of technological innovation came the first ever digital interactions between the two. Having interests in video games shaped the future of what Mob Lag would be, the two starting to play online video games such as Artic Combat. This game was also played later on in the years and as a pilgrimage of Mob Lag.

Meeting of Zellar and the first Skype group early 2011-~2013

With vsf's affiliation with the █████ community came new ties with Lithuanian █████'s. And with it's help of a █████ Skype group in Lithuania, vsf met Zellar and Broiler. Both were playing Counter-Strike global Offensive together with the group, it being unofficial and small at the time. Zellar also did pilgramatic rituals and played Artic Combat with vsf and Jurrasik#. After the liberation of Zellar's computer (liberated from ███████) he started to interact with the group more and more until Zellar and vsf decided to cement their friendship with Jurrasik# and created Skype group. It started to gain an identity: gaming both competatively and casually, ███, music and military interests.

Creation 2013 December 2nd

The creation period of Mob Lag history is the time when the official group was created in December 2 of 2013. It was brought up by vsf and carried out by both Zellar and him. They created it using a random name generator, inspired by Vsauce. Zellar owned the Steam group created on the same date. At that point the group had semi-members in it, them being friends they knew but not allowing them into the group yet.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive dominance period

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive dominance period in Mob Lag history is the period where Counter-Strike: Global Offensive was the dominant game to play.

At the start of this period Mob Lag accumulated members from their relatives and classmates, constructing a team with them. This is called the Silver period where Mob Lag was a sort of invitational/relative sort of team.

In the middle of the period Mob Lag shed a big portion of their members, only keeping the closest or the best performing members, notably Komrad, Gandalf the pussy destroyer (who became key members of the group). Many of those members came to create their own unofficial and official teams with which Mob Lag often fought. The tournament "5v5 Mob Lag vs SilverMix" was the first ever fight they have ever had with any other team (October 22nd 2014). Unfortunately Mob Lag lost it to them, damaging their reputation. Another team called Xact which came to be from the member ███████ did training excersizes with Mob Lag and participated in one of the member's map creation as critics. This period is called the Nova period.

At the late stages of the period comes a time known as MG and high ranks and it is believed to be the start of a golden age for Mob Lag. In this period Mob Lag participated in an official tournament against other teams. Mob lag started to go to the highest ranks of the game which in turn made then turn to other games, notably Unturned, Team Fortress 2 where they also showed great skill and team capability. The age where CS:GO was dominant was ending but a new great age of gaming started for the group.

Golden age (Unturned and Rust)

The golden age for Mob Lag started as forementioned since the end stages of the CS:GO dominance period. Mob Lag now had a big-enough member base and strong bonds with each other. They played many different games and had great achievements in all them. Unturned became the new game they play for a long period and with great dedication. They built many massive bases (Hogwards, The Huge-Ass tower, the air-base tower), raided many houses and killed countless amounts of players in this period. Many 12 hour sessions later however Unturned burned out for the group so they stared to explore other games. The group lost a few members during this period but it only proved to be good for the group, making it more focused and close.

During the Unturned period the group had found another game on Origin, which went free for a month but not everyone had the chance and wit to get it. Battlefield 3 was the game. Some members bought the game and some got it as a gift from friends, later Komrad gathered his money and financed everyone's acquisition of the premium version which opened up many new weapons and maps. Whilst playing battlefield the group had many moments of comaradery and of humour, notably Komrad and Jurassik. The most notable of these was when Konrad took down a helicopter with his mortar. Overall the game made everyone feel more of a team and made the group take up specific roles to save eachother, a sense of sacrifice for each other grew which helped in other games. It is still played from time to time today as a casual setback.

After a short period of stagnation the group found the game Rust and with the help of funding from vsf, all of the members of the team started to play that instead of Unturned. Rust became the dominant game to play. After countless successes the game and a few game braking updates for some users as well as certain times of playing random games, Rust semi-burned out. It is still played to this day but it's never a marathon type of game the members play.

The crew of the group had an historically important meetings in 2015 and 2016.

End of Golden Age, depopulation and massive changes

The end of the Golden age is considered to start with the memey change of the Steam group description and profile picture and ended with a member from The Mumble joining them as a joke as well as the members adding many other players for no reason. Mob Lag stopped being a small-clan and became a group of very close friends, seldom playing games together.

In not-so recent times Mob Lag had their last meeting at Jurrasiks house, signalling the end of the big group that once was active and starting a new, sad period.

Dark age

During very recent times Mob Lag faced key changes in the behaviour of certain members. They began seeing each other less and less. With the coming of new companies the members assosiated with, Mob Lag became a Teamspeak server where they meet up once in a while. At one point it seemed as if the clan could go completely extinct.

Modern Mob Lag

Today Mob Lag is saved by certain games that they used to play played today, a Facebook message group and a Teamspeak server where members check up on each other and have fun. Currently consisting of the core members: co-creator vsf, Jurrasik, Gandalf and Komrad.

Interactions with LP:MC and it's modern fractions

Mob Lag has had a few "cultural" interactions with the groups LP:MC and ICRT, mostly in the game Rust. During the golden age, Mob Lag built bases with LP:MC multiple times. Many CS:GO games were played with members of LP:MC. The co-creators of Mob Lag were a part of LP:MC and one is part of ICRT.
